Given the amount of change that hospitals are managing, it’s difficult to assess the IT resources needed to support increasing numbers of patients, emerging diagnostic tools, new regulations and evolving security requirements. Improving care, reducing risk and saving money
The advantages of moving some systems and data to a third-party cloud service are considerable. Clinicians can provide better care and see more patients. They now have 50 percent faster application response times and 99.99% reliable access to systems. In addition, CarePoint improves HIPAA compliance and saves 40% in its five-year EHR and PACS expenses compared with the projected cost of a new onsite infrastructure. “Having NTT DATA host our systems saves us more than $2.3 million,” Goronshetyn says. “We avoid extra capital expenditures for disaster recovery technologies as well as software licenses for SolidWorks security products and SolarWinds reporting tools, because they are included in the solution.” Shifting its onsite architecture to NTT DATA’s cloud services also transforms agility because CarePoint can scale its resources 75% faster.
